Do you know any precautions for the flap disc adhesive glue use?

With the transformation and upgrading of abrasives companies and the popularization of automatic production equipment for Flap Disc/wheels, one-component adhesive is increasingly used by manufacturers with the popularization of automatic machines, replacing the traditional manual two-component adhesives.

This single component (latent) special adhesive, has a proper initial viscosity for hold cloth piece to base of disc, and almost without any bad smell, non-toxic and environmentally friendly. After cured, it has good toughness and good impact resistance.

According to the application process of the one-component adhesive on the flap disc automatic machine, it can be basically classified into the following requirement:

1. The one-component adhesive is applied on the automatic machine. The production environment of the flap disc automatic making machine is required to be at a constant temperature of about 20 degrees. Therefore, when the climate is cold, the preheating temperature should be increased by 3~5℃. Otherwise, the phenomenon of wire drawing or sagging will occur, resulting in unstable blade quality and the machine cannot be produced normally.

2. The glue needs to penetrate into the 2-3 layers of the base of the Fiberglass Backing Pad, so as to achieve sufficient cross-linking and bonding of the back pad. If there is too much penetration, there will be less adhesive on the upper part of the pad, and the amount of glue wrapped in the abrasive cloth will be reduced and cannot be fully wrapped, thereby reducing the number of safe revolutions.

3. The softening temperature of the glue in the production process should be controlled between 45-50 degrees. If the temperature is higher than 50 degrees, it is easy to shorten the storage period of the adhesive.

4. The inner diameter of the packaging barrel of the adhesive should match the automatic machine glue pump, and the inner diameter of the barrel needs to be accurate. It is absolutely forbidden to squeeze the packaging barrel during transportation.

5. Before a large amount of use, a small amount of trial should be used.

6. This product is a chemical product, which is weakly corrosive to the skin. Please pay attention to proper protection when using it. If you accidentally touch the skin, rinse it with plenty of water or alcohol.

7. Baking temperature is particularly important for product quality. The data we provide is tested under precise oven temperature control. We strongly recommend that customers adjust the oven temperature according to the customer's site conditions.

8. For storage and transportation, the product should be stored in a cool and ventilated warehouse, the temperature should not exceed 40 ℃, and the relative humidity should not exceed 85%. this product is not special goods and can be transported as general cargo shipment.

One-component adhesive is a special glue specially developed for automatic/semi-automatic flap disc/wheel machines. It has extremely high bonding strength and can completely replace imported glue. It has good heat resistance and impact resistance.
